Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 10: Salman Khan’s film stares at huge losses after crawling past Rs 100 crore mark

Akshay Kumar sells an office space for Rs 8 crore five years after buying it for Rs 4.85 crore, making a profit of 65%

Salman Khan’s Eid offering, Sikandar, hasn’t quite lived up to expectations since its release. After raking in the moolah on day one, it has seen a constant decline in its collections. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film witnessed a further drop on Tuesday and minted Rs 1.35 crore, pushing its domestic collections to Rs 105.6 crore.

Sikandar fell prey to piracy on the very day it hit theatres, with the entire movie being leaked online. This hindered its box office performance immediately. But its poor commercial results could also be attributed to negative reviews and fan reception. After collecting Rs 90.25 crore in the first week of its release, the film saw a slight increase in its collections over the weekend, collecting Rs 4 crore and Rs 4.75 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. This high was temporary, as on Monday it dropped by 63 percent, minting Rs 1.75 crore. This was followed by a further drop on Tuesday. Sikandar had an overall 8.36 percent Hindi occupancy on Tuesday.

In terms of worldwide collection, the makers shared a post on Tuesday announcing that the film has minted Rs 200.93 crore worldwide. However, these numbers don’t match with the figures Sacnilk shared. According to the industry tracker, the film’s global collection stands at Rs 171.65 crore.

Salman Khan’s Sikandar pales in comparison with Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which is the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025. For instance, Chhaava minted Rs 326.75 crore at the box office in India within 10 days of release. Sikandar, however, has minted only Rs 105.6 crore.

In a recent interaction with E Times, trade analyst Girish Wankhede called Sikandar a “debacle” and declared that the film “won’t recover its cost.” He said, “The film is made on a budget of Rs 250 crore. While, many are saying that it’s made on a budget of Rs 300 or Rs 350 crore, the actual budget is Rs 250 crore. Thus, even with that, the movie is a debacle as it won’t recover the cost.”
