The FIR was filed on April 11 at the cyber police station of Dakshin Dinajpur district of the state. ET has seen a copy of the FIR.

The complaint was filed by the victim at the directions of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, the agency’s chairperson Priyank Kanoongo told ET.
Section 12 of the POCSO Act says that a person who commits sexual harassment on a child may be imprisoned for up to three years along with a fine. The offence is non-bailable, according to rulings of various high courts in the country.
Section 67 (B) of the IT Act meanwhile prescribes a punishment of up to five years with a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh in the first instance and a jail term of up to seven years and a similar fine in the second instance.
Emails sent to Meta seeking their response on the issue did not yield any response.
