Hisar: Haryana Agricultural University vice-chancellor Prof B R Kamboj on Saturday said Haryana was the second largest state contributing to the central food grains stock. Addressing a seminar on Agricultural Scientist – Farmer Dialogue Regarding Achievements of Agricultural University, Prof Kamboj said Haryana was smaller than other states in terms of area but it was the second largest contributor to grains stock.More than 60% of country’s basmati rice is exported from Haryana only, he added. “Due to research work by HAU scientists, technology and hard work of farmers, there has been a record increase in grain product,” he said.tnn
