Jake Sullivan’s visit next week to widen ties in Indo-Pacific
US national security advisor Jake Sullivan arrives in India next week as the Biden administration seeks closer engagement with New Delhi in the Indo-Pacific to counter-balance China’s ambitions in the region.

A senior White House official told a press conference in Washington Wednesday that Sullivan will also talk to the Indian leadership about the next steps in technology cooperation, while acknowledging “some ambivalence or some uncertainty” between the two countries in the past.

The US-India relationship is trending substantially in a positive direction and “our level of engagement across every possible vector-security, intelligence, technology, people-to-people-has excelled”, the official said.
