
Joe Root Surpasses Kumar Sangakkara: England legend Joe Root’s record-breaking cricketing summer of 2024 sees his add yet another record, as the 33-year-old surpasses Kumar Sangakkara as the 6th higest run-getter in Test internationals.
The Modern Era great achieved the feat during England’s 2nd innings against Sri Lanka in the 3rd Test match at the Kennington Oval, London, but soon after achieveing the feat, he was on his way back to the pavilion for an individual score of 12.
Joe Root now has 12,402 Test runs, and need merely 70 more runs to surpass another England legend, Alastair Cook, as the all-time leading run-scorer for the country in Test Internationals.
