A bench headed by justice BR Gavai deleted the condition on a plea filed by Sisodia, who is facing graft and money-laundering cases in connection with alleged irregularities in framing the excise policy.
“We hold that the condition is not needed and thus deleted. However, the applicant (Sisodia) shall regularly attend trial,” the bench said.
SC in August granted bail to Sisodia in the cases registered by CBI and ED, observing that a prolonged delay in starting the trial violated his right to speedy trial.
In the order on August 9 releasing Sisodia, who had spent over 17 months behind bars, SC warned trial and high courts against playing safe in matters of bail.
