Aamir Jamal Fined PKR 1.4 Million By PCB For ‘804’ On Test Cap

Pakistan cricketer Aamir Jamal has been fined 1.4 million Pakistani rupees (PKR) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for writing ‘804’ on his Test cap, sparking controversy in Pakistan cricket once again.

The PCB took action against Jamal for breaching its regulations. Reports suggest that ‘804’ is the badge number of jailed former cricketer Imran Khan, and Jamal’s act was seen as a gesture of support for him.

This isn’t the first time the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has penalized players for disciplinary violations.

Last year, Sam Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, and Abdullah Shafiq were fined 500,000 Pakistani rupees each for arriving late during Pakistan’s tour of Australia. Similarly, Usman Khan, Abbas Afridi, and Sufian Muqeem were fined $200 each for delays during the South Africa series earlier this year.

Pakistan under fire after heavy loss to New Zealand

Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand, a five-match T20I series, started on a disastrous note, with their batting lineup collapsing in the first T20 match.

Pakistan’s batting lineup crumbled as eight players failed to reach double digits, and the team was bowled out for just 91 runs in in 18.4 overs, eventually resulting in their nine-wicket defeat. For PAK, Khushdil Shah top-scored with 32 runs. Both openers departed without scoring, highlighting Pakistan’s ongoing struggles even after ICC Champions Trophy.

For New Zealand, Jacob lead the attack by taking four wickets. The hosts made light work of the chase, reaching the target in just 10.1 overs with the loss of only one wicket.
