This was his third half-century in the ongoing season and a vital contribution in guiding Gujarat to a strong total on their home turf in Ahmedabad.

Sudharsan came to the crease after Gujarat lost captain Shubman Gill early for just 2 runs. He then formed a solid 80-run partnership with Jos Buttler for the second wicket, taking control of the innings.

He reached his half-century in just 32 deliveries and kept the momentum going. His innings featured 8 boundaries and 3 sixes, played at an impressive strike rate of 154.

During this knock, Sudharsan also surpassed a significant milestone. He broke Chris Gayle’s record for most IPL runs after 30 innings. Sudharsan has now scored 1307 runs in his first 30 IPL innings, overtaking Gayle’s 1141. Only Shaun Marsh remains ahead of him with 1338 runs at the same stage.

Sudharsan’s form has been one of the biggest positives for Gujarat Titans this season.

He began IPL 2025 tournament with a 74-run knock, followed by 63 in the next match. He narrowly missed out on another fifty with a score of 39 in the third game and had a rare off-day against Sunrisers Hyderabad, scoring just 5. However, his innings against Rajasthan Royals was a return to form and played a key role in Gujarat posting a total of 217.
