Actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is coming back to the screens with an intense sports drama titled The Smashing Machine, which is based on the life of UFC fighter Mark Kerr. Benny Safdie is at the helm of the project, and the cast of the film includes Academy Award nominee Emily Blunt, Ryan Bader, Lyndsey Gavin, Bas Rutten and Oleksandr Usyk.
The trailer opens with Dwayne Johnson sitting in a clinic, his face visibly battered, while an elderly woman stares at him. He asks if she’s wondering why he looks that way and whether she’s heard of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She replies, “That’s the bloody thing they’re trying to ban.”
