Chandigarh: For an efficient and transparent Lok Sabha election process, Punjab’s chief electoral office will webcast from all 24,433 polling stations in the state, gather live feedback from voters via apps, phone lines, and websites, and use CCTV and other computer technologies to track the EVMs.
Sharing the details with the media on Tuesday, state’s chief electoral officer, Sibin C, said: “We will monitor voting through 100% webcasting and CCTV surveillance.We’ll have camera both inside all 24,433 polling booths and outside 1,884 polling stations that in clusters of three or more. We have a next-generation district information system for elections (DISE) to use staff data for scheduling rehearsals, randomising deployment, and taking headcount.” tnn
