Ludhiana: CIA-III unit of Ludhiana police commissionerate arrested a drug peddler with 260 grams of heroin and a country-made pistol of .32 bore along with two live cartridges. The team also seized a Fortuner SUV in which the accused was travelling. The accused has been identified as Amritraj Singh alias Amrit of Meharban’s Dhola village. DCP Jaskiranjit Singh Teja said: “The team, led by in-charge CIA-3, intercepted the SUV coming from Phillaur at a checkpoint installed near Ladhowal Toll Plaza.On checking, the team recovered the contraband and weapons from the accused. The DCP said that the accused had four FIRs registered against him, including those of impersonation, cheating and cases of heinous crime such as murder and attempt to murder. Police are questioning the accused to ascertain where he procured drugs and weapons from. tnn
