2 More Toll Plazas To Close From April 2 | Chandigarh News –
Bathinda: The two toll plazas on the Barnala-Ludhiana state highway will cease to exist from the midnight of April 2, chief minister Bhagwant Mann announced on Saturday.
According to him, this would help commuters save money being spent on toll. The chief minister said the toll plazas at Rakba village near Mullanpur and Mehal Kalan were operated by one company.
The company, citing the losses it had to suffer due to Covid and farmers’ struggle, had demanded relaxation of 448 days, but Punjab govt rejected the demand and now, these toll plazas will be closed from the midnight of April 2, he added.
Earlier, a number of toll plazas had been closed in Punjab upon expiry of their respective terms. TNN
