Jalandhar: The Jalandhar commissionerate police on Saturday claimed to have arrested four members of the Prema Lahoria and Vicky Gounder gang after a brief exchange of fire.
Swapan Sharma, commissioner of police, said following a tip off, a blue colour XUV 700 was intercepted and after exchange of fire the police nabbed Naveeen Saini, Neeraj Kapoor, Kishan Bali and Vinod Joshi, all residents of Jalandhar.
He said six .32 bore pistols and 26 cartridges were also seized from them. With the arrest of the accused, the police prevented two supari killings, Sharma added.
He further said 21 cases, under serious charges, were pending against Saini, while six cases were pending against Kapoor, at Jalandhar, Mohali, Patiala and Hoshiarpur.
No criminal background of the other two accused could be traced so far, Sharma added.
