Clinical Mumbai Indians Humble SRH By 7 Wickets

Trent Boult’s fiery 4/26 and Deepak Chahar’s economical 2/12 set the tone before Rohit Sharma anchored the chase with a classy 70 off 46 balls, as Mumbai Indians cruised to a convincing seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. This was MI’s second win over SRH in the ongoing IPL 2025 season.

SRH stages recovery after disastrous start

Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad staged a recovery after a disastrous start to post a fighting total against Mumbai Indians, thanks to a vital partnership between Heinrich Klaasen and Abhinav Manohar.

After electing to bowl, Mumbai Indians made early inroads, reducing SRH to 13 for 4 and later 35 for 5. However, Klaasen and Manohar steadied the innings with a 99-run stand for the sixth wicket, guiding their side to 143 for 8 in 20 overs. Klaasen played a counterattacking knock of 71 off 44 balls, while Manohar contributed a handy 43.

Top order troubles continue for SRH

The worrying trend of SRH’s top-order failures continued in this match as well. Within the first 13 runs, key batters like Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Nitish Kumar Reddy were already back in the dugout.

With half the side gone for just 35, SRH looked set for a collapse before Klaasen and Manohar’s rescue act.

Boult and Chahar lead MI’s charge

Mumbai’s bowling unit made the most of the conditions early on. Trent Boult was the pick of the bowlers, scalping 4 wickets for 26 runs in his four overs. Deepak Chahar was equally effective, finishing with 2 for 12. Although Jasprit Bumrah conceded 39 runs, he chipped in with a wicket, while skipper Hardik Pandya also took one to maintain the pressure.
